Hooray for October ! A gloriously crisp and comfy month characterised by chunky-knit jumpers and darker nights spent cuddled up on the sofa under a blanket , which could well be the perfect spot to have a read of our momentous 150th issue of insideKENT ! A feat that we are oh so proud of and oh so thankful to you , our wonderful readers and supporters - like the fabulous cast of Peter Pan at The Malthouse , our 150th issue cover stars - for celebrating The Best of Kent™ with us each and every month .

If , like us , you fancy celebrating in style , it seems an apt time to not only appreciate a seasonal palate change , but also to head to a cosy local pub or inn and let someone cook for you , so you can indulge in comforting style – head to page 96 for ideas on where to go .
October may well herald the drawing in of nights , but there ’ s so much to do across Kent that celebrates this shift and the comforting crunch of colourful leaves underfoot that it brings . Start at p15 and get stuck into five packed pages celebrating the county ’ s rich cultural mix of things to do and see both now and next month ; Christmas cheer and pantomime take centre stage in our annual seasonal sneak peek from p33 ; if you ’ re in the mood for a walk to take in Kent ’ s wonderful wintery views , turn to p59 for some inspiration ; or , if your idea of heaven is an outdoor hot tub beautifully contrasting with the chilly autumnal air , we have you covered with an irresistible roundup of local stays from p91 .
Our third special feature this month focuses on Black History Month with a fascinating look at some of Kent ’ s historical unsung heroes – flick to page 77 to hear their untold stories .
One event that never goes overlooked here at insideKENT is Halloween – we love it ! Busting the myth that Halloween is simply about eating sweets and chocolate ( although it is a bit , right ?), we ’ ve selected Kent ’ s top Halloween attractions and events for you from p25 . From wholesome pumpkinpicking family days out to ghost hunts and thriller walks in the dark , are you brave enough to take on fright night and survive it ?
Please find and follow us on socials @ insideKENT – to let us know what you think of the mag . # teamsideways is off to raise a glass to 150 !
Thanks for reading , Kent !
