Joining the growing lineup of new restaurants at Folkestone Harbour , Cavells , a brand-new Eastern Mediterranean offering from the family team behind the much-loved Big Greek Bus , has opened on the historic Harbour Arm .
Cavells is housed in a pair of sensitively restored and reimagined PMVs ( Parcel and Miscellaneous Vans ) and sits in the same former location as the iconic Big Greek Bus . It is set to offer a relaxed , lounge style dining experience with extensive views right across the coastline .
Visitors can expect many of their old Greek favourites along with brand new menu additions , with influences from across Lebanon and Syria , thanks to the significantly expanded kitchen space . Dishes include shawarma style lamb , fattoush , a mixture of hot meze , salads , and flatbreads .
Commenting on the new opening , Paulo Kingston-Corriea , general manager of Folkestone Harbour & Seafront Development Company said : “ It ’ s been a pleasure to work with the team who first brought The Big Greek Bus to our site to develop something really special . As some of the oldest tenants with some of the loyalist customers , we ’ re really excited to see people get to experience this fresh new offering at Folkestone Harbour ”.
Cavells added : “ As one of the founding members of the growing food and drink scene that has given Folkestone Harbour its identity , we are so delighted to have taken our business to the next level with the support of Folkestone Harbour & Seafront Development Company . The introduction of these carriages means we can offer a much more extensive menu to our loyal customers , as well as offering them somewhere to take in the great views right throughout the year .”
