With over a decade of experience as a science teacher and working within schools as a GCSE examiner , but with a passion to change up normal curriculums and make learning science fun , Monika Wentowska set up The Little Science Society initially in her back garden before branching out to multiple venues across the county . “ I am very passionate about science and felt that it would be so much better to teach children using investigations and practical activities instead of a textbook ,” says Monika . “ I wanted to give children an opportunity to ‘ do ’ science and for parents to be able to help children to link the scientific concept with everyday science at home and extend their budding scientists ’ learning by exploring the world around them .” Now , Monika teaches children aged 5 - 15 in weekly classes , workshops and one-to-one sessions , facilitating learning through interactive activities to improve scientific literacy and confidence . Monika is even working on a practical science GSCE programme for home-educated children to take their science to the next level .
