Spring Grove School is holding its next Open Morning on Saturday 5 October 2024 - a great way for families to come and get a feel for our friendly school , and a good opportunity to visit the school at the weekend .
Spring Grove is a small school with a big reputation for excellence in all areas . As a completely independent prep school , we make sure that children are ready to move on to the senior school of their choice when they leave at the age of 11 . We are proud that over half of our leavers go to grammar schools , while over a third move on to senior independent schools , often with scholarships .
So , what makes Spring Grove so special ? The ‘ excellent ’ teaching and learning - according to the ISI inspectors who visited the school in 2023 : “ pupils demonstrate excellent levels of knowledge , skills and understanding in their learning .”
The nursery , with its large walled garden and well-resourced outdoor and indoor play areas , develops children from the age of two years upwards to become curious and creative learners . Our Forest School is also a magical place where all children from nursery to Year 6 have space and time to explore and create in the woodland .
Sport , with specialist teachers from nursery upwards , is participated in by all students at all levels to encourage health and fitness , and helps to develop self-esteem , selfconfidence , communication , discipline and respect , both as individuals and as part of a team .
Art , dance , music and drama are embedded in everyday life for our children through performing and creative arts ; our Artsmark Gold award is proof of the importance and quality of this provision across the school .
