Sporting Excellence Sport is a cornerstone of the co-curricular programme at St Edmund ’ s . Providing opportunities for all pupils to participate in sports , the program emphasises the many benefits of physical activity - improved fitness , enhanced skills , increased confidence and valuable experience in communication , teamwork and leadership . The school offers a wide range of sports , ensuring that every student can find an activity they enjoy and can excel in .
Creative Arts The Creative Arts at St Edmund ’ s are exceptional , offering students rich opportunities in art , music , drama and dance . Highlights include annual drama and music productions , concerts and the Canterbury Art Prize at the St Edmund ’ s
Festival , where pupils from across Kent showcase their talents .
Clubs and Societies Beyond sports and performing arts , St Edmund ’ s offers a wide range of clubs and societies catering to diverse interests . From debating and robotics to environmental conservation and community service , these clubs provide a platform for students to pursue their passions and make a difference .
Outdoor Education St Edmund ’ s is an enthusiastic advocate of outdoor education , with a distinctive interpretation offering pupils confidence and self-esteem through the completion of challenging activities , skills in communication , problem solving , leadership and teamwork , an appreciation of physical activity and expanded horizons .
Trips and Expeditions – CCF & DoE The school nurtures a sense of adventure in its pupils , offering life-changing trips and expeditions every year , whether co-curricular or organised by academic departments and houses . These include inspiring expeditions and cultural visits in the UK and abroad , as well as opportunities such as visiting speakers and debating forums . The Combined Cadet Force ( CCF ) provides opportunities for over 100 cadets and officers , while expeditions are a significant part of the hugely popular Duke of Edinburgh ’ s Award Scheme ( DoE ).

Stepping out of my comfort zone was scary at first , but now I love it and can ’ t wait to keep doing these things even after I leave St Edmund ’ s .”

The driving force behind the co-curricular offering is Mr . Nick Hodge , the assistant head of co-curricular at St Edmund ’ s . As Mr . Hodge explains : “ Our co-curricular activities are designed to nurture the whole person . We aim to provide students with opportunities to discover their passions , develop their skills and become wellrounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges of the future .”
