SIDEWAYS MEDIA CELEBRATES SCORING A HATTRICK WITH FAMILY AWARD WIN
Sideways Media are delighted to have been recently awarded Family Business of the Year for the third year in a row at the esteemed Business Awards Kent - Ashford , as well as being named finalists in Creative , Digital and Innovation , and Small Business c ategories .
On winning Best Family Business , Sideways ’ founders Adam and Sam Ready were commended on their evident passion for their business , how they treat their team as an extension of the family , as well as for their proud inclusion of younger family members in exciting business developments .
These awards recognised not only Sideways publishing Kent ’ s largest and most widely distributed luxury lifestyle magazine , insideKENT , but also Kent Staycation , A Kentish Ceremony magazine and a number of other print publications , as well as their marcomms work for clients including Ashford Borough Council , who appointed them as the official agency for Elwick Place , where they have successfully delivered community events such as ASHFOOD ! and the Big Light Switch On .

TEAM GB AND PARALYMPICSGB ATHLETES BRING THE POSITIVE ENERGY TO LOCAL PRIMARY SCHOOL ’ S SPORTS DAY
British Gas , in partnership with Team GB , ParalympicsGB and Global ’ s Heart Radio , hosted the ultimate sports day at St Augustine ’ s Catholic Primary School in Hythe , Kent , as part of a competition for schools across the country to win a Positive Energy Sports Day .
On Friday 21 June , children were surprised with a visit from Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes , providing an exciting sports day not to be forgotten . The day ’ s activities included brand-new sports equipment , food and drinks stalls , face painting , balloon artists and a winner ’ s podium to keep the children entertained . Pupils were also kitted out in Team GB and ParalympicsGB gear , with medals presented by both athletes .
The Positive Energy Sports Day is part of British Gas ’ s ‘ Get Set for Positive Energy ’ initiative , a new free programme from British Gas , Team GB and ParalympicsGB where children aged 5 - 11 will be empowered to take action to save energy , creating a happier , healthier and greener future .
MYTIME ACTIVE AND THE BROMLEY CHILDREN AND FAMILIES VOLUNTARY SECTOR FORUM JOIN FORCES TO SUPPORT YOUNG MUMS
Mytime Active is working in partnership with the Bromley Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum ( BCFF ) to deliver twice-weekly free swimming lessons for young mums aged 15 - 24 and their babies .
Debra Weekes , partnerships manager at Mytime Active , said : “ Working collaboratively with BCFF means we can co-deliver and coproduce this impactful programme , allowing young mums the opportunity to build relationships , learn lifesaving skills , create bonding experiences with their babies and build social interaction with their little ones in a safe space . Becoming a parent can be a lonely experience at any time and we are proud of the positive impact this initiative has had on these young parents and their babies .”
The initiative is promoted through Bromley ’ s Family Nurse Partnership , where health and social care professionals will make referrals for young women to join the programme . The scheme is currently at capacity with 30 young women registered , though BCFF is looking for further funding and sponsorship to help continue this programme into 2025 .
