Launching in Kent 11 years ago , when Deborah Hart began classes in Gravesend and Meopham , TinyTalk Kent offers award-winning signing classes for families with babies , toddlers and newborns . Since then , the team has grown to a passionate group of five women ; Becky , Kirsty , Amy and Nicola who support thousands of families across the county to foster stronger communication and connections with their small children . Currently offering over 30 weekly classes , catering for babies from birth to preschool age , with something on every day of the week in a variety of locations , sessions use BSL signs , songs , and stories , coupled with age-appropriate development activities to encourage the children to communicate using their hands long before they can talk fluently . “ Our sessions also include a dedicated social time so children can play safely , snooze or feed while their parents make friends and connections with others ” says Deborah . “ It ’ s an invaluable part of what we offer , and one of the reasons our families choose to stay with us for a long time - TinyTalk is their friendship group , not just a class !”.
POPPY OF PIMLICO www . poppyofpimlico . co . uk poppy _ of _ pimlico
In the summer of 2023 , Poppy Montgomery took the leap from a fastpaced career as a chef to selling pre-loved children ’ s clothing after falling in love with shopping sustainability for her one year old daughter . She soon grew her collections of clothing and officially launched Poppy of Pimlico - named after the area in London where she discovered the joy of thrifting in the many charity and vintage shops . “ It is a total way of life for me now , I rarely buy anything new and I love the buzz I get from sourcing beautiful pieces from all sorts of places ” says Poppy . “ My motto is ‘ shop small , be kind ’, by this I mean to encourage people to shop locally and sustainably as much as possible , in a way that supports your community and is kind to the planet .”. Poppy regularly holds pop up clothing sales at Oriole Cafe at the Kent Cricket Ground and is excited to hold a special celebratory event there on the 28 September to mark one year of Poppy of Pimlico and to launch her new womenswear business ‘ Poppy Does Preloved ’.
