HOME + GARDEN
What design trends did you see in 2023 and what are you expecting to see further into 2024 ? Firstly , sustainable interiors are becoming very big . In 2023 , conversations started happening more frequently around this , but this will only hit harder in 2024 now we ’ re becoming more aware of our environmental impact and big brands are also taking notice . Curves are also here to stay I ’ d say ; curved and textural bespoke furnishings are becoming largely popular . A huge amount of my work in 2023 was designing bespoke joinery and I feel this is only going to keep its place in 2024 with more people wanting multi-functional spaces . I think sculptural lighting will continue to grow in 2024 , and blues , greens and neutral tones will remain popular as there ’ s so many beautiful and timeless shades to select from now .
What is the most satisfying thing about being an interior designer and what do you enjoy most about it ? Working with people and creating spaces that really do make their lives easier . Seeing the end result is a fave for me , as is client reactions to the designs coming together , which is why I do this ! I love designing but of course getting it right and helping people live better ( as well as stylishly , of course ) in their homes is a pure delight .
