WELCOME TO COMPTON ’ S . BEFORE WE TALK KITCHENS , WHY NOT GET TO KNOW US A LITTLE BIT ? WE ARE A FAMILY-RUN BUSINESS AND BOY DO WE HAVE A BIG FAMILY ; LET ME INTRODUCE US ALL SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE FLAVOURS WE BRING TO KITCHEN DESIGN . BY LISA COMPTON , CO-OWNER
Starting from the top is mum ( me ) and dad , Ian , the head designers , sons Jacob , our managing director , Joseph , associate builder , Jack , our technical support , and daughters Sammy , our writer and social media expert , and Tilly , our head of marketing . Our children inspire us every day with their very different ideas ( as well as personalities !) and this reflects in our design ; we have an abundance of kitchen ranges , and , with our talented design team , we offer a wide variety of kitchens tailored to the individual .
Community is so important to us , so the first shop we opened was in Faversham , our hometown , as supporting local businesses and being at the heart of the community is something we hold very dear to us . We started as a small business , designing unique handmade and upcycled furniture , but we strove to create something more and decided as a family what our expansion into this field of design would encompass .
The kitchen has always seemed the heart of our home , so we embarked on a journey of design using everyone ’ s talents to create beautiful kitchens for every individual .
Our family is creating your dream family kitchen : the heart of the home . Expanding into the future , we decided to launch into kitchen design , offering our expertise in everything modern , as well as handmade and bespoke kitchens .
Our story continues as we decided to branch out into another showroom , an even larger workshop and now our very first design studio . Bringing in a team of skilled craftsmen was a big step for us a family business , as was employing other staff and designers who have all done us proud and who we are all extremely grateful for . Our incredibly talented workshop team makes all of our kitchens by hand with no CNC machines in sight , and we pride ourselves on using the finest materials available to us .
We incomposite a varied range of kitchens to suit all family units , as well as unique designs to suit all budgets . Herne Bay thankfully became a success , as well as allowing us to be rewarded with becoming certified members of the Guild of Master Craftsman , which only gave us the drive to expand further in Kent and support further local communities and businesses .
We are very proud to announce that after a lot of research and working towards the next perfect area for our latest shop , we are currently renovating a beautiful ( but in need of new life !) shop in Kent ’ s quintessential town of Tenterden ; we believe it ’ s the perfect place to create kitchen designs with a juxtaposition of county and modern , and with individualism at the heart .
Our ethos is and always will always be ‘ your kitchen , your way ’.
