What design trends did you see in 2023 and what are you expecting to see further into 2024 ? 2023 design trends contained lots of references to biophilic design ( using plants to ‘ bring the outside in ’) and also a focus on sustainability . These trends are set to continue into 2024 through the creation of eclectic design schemes using vintage and second hand furniture . There ’ s also a nod to more frivolous and playful designs set to come in 2024 , with lots of colour ; curved edges on furnishings such as rugs and sofas and also ruffles on cushion cases .
What is the most satisfying thing about being an interior designer and what do you enjoy most about it ? Being invited into someone ’ s personal space to help design it is a huge privilege . I absolutely love helping my client ’ s to solve all of those house ‘ niggles ’ that have been bothering them and helping them to create calm , inspiring and sophisticated spaces to live in . There ’ s nothing better than a design client sending you images of their newly decorated home and saying how much they now love to come home to it after work or how their family is loving living in the space . It ’ s hugely rewarding !
