Founded in 1962 by counter-tenor Alfred Deller , the Stour Music Festivals take place over two consecutive weekends within the beautiful medieval All Saints Church in Boughton Aluph , overlooking our striking Stour Valley .
Bringing together a collection of early music brought back to life by talented musicians , enjoy embarking on a musical journey beginning in 17th-century Venice and Rome . Flamenco dancers will perform beautiful footworks on the new and improved stage , a magical fireworks display will feature on Saturday and choirs will take centre stage on Sundays including Lyons Mouth and a showstopping festival finale with Haydn . A truly remarkable celebration of the finest compositions and musical mastery .
