LONDON

Situated at one of the capital ’ s most prestigious addresses , InterContinental London Park Lane is rightly proud of its modern luxury offering set in the heart of Mayfair . Inspired by its location overlooking the Royal Parks , the hotel delivers elegant natural interiors and award-winning seasonal cuisine , which has recently been extended to include a new , indulgent and limitless Sunday brunch .

While catering effortlessly for the discerning couple , celebratory groups and excitable ‘ ladies who brunch ’, the InterContinental has also made great efforts to cater for families too , and it was with a very hungry Ready brood that we descended for an early table to fully indulge - we were not disappointed !
Created by executive chef Lalit Kumar , the brunch menu here is a showcase of banqueting fit for a royal .
A feast for the eyes first , on entry to the bright dining room you are immediately drawn to the hot and cold starter bar boasting breads , salads , fruits and fresh and smoked seafood , all set adjacent to the bursting dessert station ( from which we had to swiftly divert the littlest Readys “ until later ”) and the lure of unlimited ( yes , you read that right - unlimited ) freshly cooked to order waffles , an inspired ‘ egg ’ menu and views of the pièce de résistance , the signature Sunday roast station .
Showcasing British classics made with locally sourced ingredients , it was hard to know where to begin , wanting all at once to try every morsel of cheese , chutney , humous , melon and freshly baked croissants , while wanting to leave room for beef Wellington , Kentish roast chicken and a myriad of sweet treats too … And that ’ s of course the genius of a refined help-yourself brunch ; eat what you desire as you desire it and then pop back for more , all assisted with unlimited chilledtableside Prosecco or repoured ( as soon as you ’ ve drunk them ) Bloody Marys ( lethal !).
With orders of Nutella-drenched waffles , perfectly poached eggs Benedict and another Bloody Mary appearing at the table for half the brood , the rest of us ventured over to the roast station , loading our plates with delicious Gloucestershire beef Wellington and Kentish roast chicken respectively , before adding roasted potatoes , a perfectly dreamy oozing cauliflower cheese and copious amounts of herb jus .
Finally , the earlier promise of ‘ later ’ came true as we had a final sweet-tooth fulfilling buffet trip , rewarded with plump , juicy strawberries dipped in bitter dark chocolate , delicate Chantilly-cream-filled meringue ‘ messes ’ with fresh berries , decadent lemon tarts and ‘ one-for-the-road ’ chocolate chip cookies - heaven !
From the grandeur of the decor , the plushness of the surroundings , the attentiveness of the team and the utter indulgence of the limitless buffet , Sunday brunching here is memorable for all the right reasons !
Brunch is served at the hotel ’ s main restaurant every Sunday between 12.30pm – 3pm , priced at £ 69pp (£ 35 for children under 11 , under 5s eat free ), or £ 79 with a glass of Champagne or Bloody Mary on arrival .
For a more indulgent experience , upgrade to 90 minutes of unlimited Prosecco or Bloody Mary for £ 89 per guest . Bookings are now open at parklane . intercontinental . com / dine / sunday-brunch .
