Set within the breathtaking surroundings of Canterbury Cathedral and presented by the Gulbenkian Arts Centre , this oneoff event promises an immersive evening to remember . Composer Gavin Bryars , who will also conduct this performance , will be showcasing the incredibly moving music of Jesus ’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet , which is widely recognised all over the world . This will also be a particularly special performance as Gavin Bryars celebrates his 80th birthday .

Plenty of educational talks will be available , covering topics from childhood toys to crime and punishment . Be sure to take the opportunity to meet the beautiful owls and birds of prey from Kent Owl Academy .

There is plenty of fun to be had this month at historical landmark , Dover Castle . Following in the footsteps of Henry II , who began the building of the castle back in the 1180s , the team are inviting families to build Dover ’ s mighty Great Tower with LEGO ®. Get hands on , with help from the brick artists , to create a sculpture fit for a king ! This event is free for English Heritage members .

Brogdale Farm invites you to join their extraordinary celebration of cherry blossom and Japanese culture . Hanami , translating to ‘ flower viewing ’, is a centuries-old Japanese tradition where people gather to revel in the blossoms in full bloom and celebrate the beginning of spring . Enjoy an immersive Japanese Tea Ceremony , interactive workshops and sushi making demonstrations , as well as talks from author Naoko Abe and tours of the beautiful blossoms throughout the grounds .
