Feathertouch hygienist Janine Goble has worked as a dental professional for nearly 25 years . Working across Kent and London , she is now based at the modern twelve-surgery practice at Connect 38 , Pennypot Dental , Ashford .
Janine offers professional teeth cleaning and polishing , Zoom Whitening and facial aesthetics procedures . Having trained with facial aesthetics industry leader Dr Bob Khanna , she is passionate about combining art and science to deliver safe and natural looking results .
Here , she discusses her gentle approach to dental care , how a healthy mouth can improve overall health and why a dental surgery is the ideal environment to receive facial aesthetic treatments .
As a dental hygienist , I provide preventative care , from routine dental cleaning through to more complex periodontal treatments with a lot of focus on how you can maintain good oral hygiene practises at home .
I have treated many patients throughout my career who have a fear of dental treatment due to previous bad experiences . I believe my years as a dental nurse before studying Dental Hygiene and Therapy at King ’ s College Hospital helped me develop the calm and caring bedside manner that my patients always appreciate . It was when a very nervous patient , who happens to be a dentist , told me at the end of her treatment that she was so grateful for my gentle technique and that I really have a ‘ feathertouch ’ that the idea for my business name came about .
My aim is to provide high quality care , where patients can feel truly relaxed and know they are in good hands while receiving their dental hygiene and facial aesthetic procedures .
So , why is good oral hygiene so important ? The mouth is the door to the body , so doing our best to maintain good oral health is essential . Poor oral hygiene has been proven to increase the risk of many other health conditions including cardiovascular disease , diabetes , rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer ’ s to name a few .
As a hygienist , not only do I help to treat gum disease with dental scaling procedures , but a lot of emphasis is on educating my patients , showing them how to brush and clean between their teeth correctly . Each patient that visits me will have a bespoke at-home regime explained and demonstrated in surgery during their appointment .
There are a few reasons why I am unique to other aesthetic practitioners . Having trained to advanced / masterclass level allows me to be sure I can deliver safe and predictable results to my patients . As a GDC-registered dental professional my patients know they are having medical aesthetics carried out by a trusted clinician in a CQC-registered , pristine clinical environment using premium products from reputable UK pharmacies only . A dental practice is one of the safest places to have facial aesthetic treatments and also a discreet setting , which many of my patients , especially males , prefer .
