Nestled in the heart of Folkestone , Rosemont stands as a welcoming oasis of Mediterranean luxe , captivating visiting diners through bold artworks , bling touches and a passion for the fresh flavours of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine .

Exuding understated elegance , all guests are welcomed like old friends at this familyowned gem , which , since opening just a couple of years ago , has made its mark on the seaside town with an all-day menu , laid-back approach and signature cocktail bar vibe .
Inside , a subtle interplay of warm lighting and contemporary décor creates an inviting ambience , making it the perfect setting for intimate dinners or celebratory gatherings . While backdrops of textured murals add a unique touch and the perfect spot to begin an evening ’ s dining with a signature Rosemont cocktail , prepared with flair at the central statement bar .
Boasting that all-day menu that takes diners from Turkish eggs and Egyptian breakfasts to set lunch menus and a range of grill-led main dishes , the menu here is a showcase of Turkish cuisine with gentle spiced meats , fish grilled-to-order and hearty favourites slow-cooked daily .
Begin with a selection of meze ; the house bread is fabulous , especially when paired with fresh humus and batons of deep fried halloumi with sweet chilli jam . For seafood aficionados , the crispy calamari is an absolute must . Delicately battered and fried to golden perfection , it ’ s served with a zesty tartar that enhances the dish ’ s natural flavours .
For mains , the most popular dish and menu highlight is the souvlaki . Available either as corn-fed chicken or lamb , it was the latter that my guest opted for and was subsequently rewarded with a succulent and perfectly grilled lamb skewer marinated in a blend of Greek and Turkish spices that transported our taste buds to the sunsoaked shores of the Mediterranean - the side of lemon-infused rice and seasonal salad bringing us back with a zesty zing . My pick was the lamb chops , a delicately prepared dish with flavours of garlic and thyme served with bulgur and salad . Lastly , the narli kuzu , a traditional Ottoman slow-cooked lamb dish with pomegranate , completed our impromptu lamb trilogy !
Not ones to turn down dessert , we went on a table exploration of classic Rosemont treats - a classic chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream , a light panna cotta with fruit compote and some more traditional choices of apricot compote served with figs , cream and nut crumble , and the house kunefe , a layered pastry dish with mozzarella and topped with syrup-soaked pistachios - bliss !
With a great location on the edge of town , passionate owners and a menu that blends Mediterranean tradition with a modern twist , Rosemont offers an excellent option for those seeking a delightful grill menu in a contemporary , welcoming atmosphere .
