Feeling tough ? It ’ s time to prepare for an unprecedented adrenaline rush as Tough Mudder South East 2024 kicks off the season at Pippingford Park in Nutley , Uckfield , on April 6 , promising intense new obstacles and courses that will push participants to their limits .
This year , Tough Mudder is taking the challenge to a whole new level against the breathtaking backdrop of Pippingford Park ’ s hills , offering a test of strength and endurance beyond the everyday tough . The event , situated conveniently between London and Brighton , features two distances for those seeking coveted headbands and medals and will have an extra special participant as insideKENT ’ s design director Lorna Morris has signed up for the event to raise funds for Cancer Research following a devastating bowel cancer diagnosis last year . insideSTORY cont ..
Bravely beating her stage three cancer last year , while continuing to design insideKENT throughout a gruelling course of treatment including surgery and multiple rounds of chemotherapy , Lorna ’ s attentions this year are focused on smashing the notoriously ‘ tough ’ endurance race .
Commenting on her Tough Mudder entry , Lorna said : “ While wondering what on earth I was thinking signing up , I am absolutely committed not only to my health and wellness journey and living every day to its fullest but also to raising vital funds for an incredible charity that supports cancer sufferers and their families through some of their most difficult times .”
LATE NIGHT TRAINS ARE DREAM ( LAND ) COME TRUE !
Margate is set to sparkle this summer as Southeastern , in collaboration with Dreamland , unveils a custom late-night train schedule to tie in with the seaside entertainment venue ’ s 2024 Summer Season .
The initiative , running from June to September on Friday and Saturday nights , aims to boost the local night-time economy , particularly benefiting concertgoers attending Dreamland ’ s star-studded lineup .
Commenting on the exciting schedule , Eddie Kemsley , CEO of Dreamland , said : “ I am so thrilled that Southeastern are providing this amazing service not only for ticket holders at Dreamland ’ s summer gigs , but the whole night time industry of Margate . The additional late night services from Margate will ensure that members of the public can enjoy all that Margate and Dreamland have to offer to the full .”
Late-night train tickets will be available for purchase at least a month before each event , with no booking fees when acquired directly from the Southeastern website or app , allowing giggoers great access to Dreamland ’ s 2024 summer lineup which boasts an impressive array of artists including Status Quo , Madness , Limp Bizkit , Craig David , JLS , Nile Rogers , Jess Glynne , Paloma Faith and more .

HADLOW COLLEGE ’ S EWE-NIQUE ARTWORK SET TO JOIN KENT ’ S LANDSCAPE !
Hadlow College is set to join the flock when a special event comes to Maidstone this summer as the college will have its own uniquely decorated sheep as part of the Shaun in the Heart of Kent art trail , which is being run by the Heart of Kent Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art and the multi-awardwinning Aardman studio .
Over 50 large individually decorated Shaun the Sheep sculptures will be placed around the parks , town centre and river walks in Maidstone and the surrounding areas , accompanied by a flock of little Shauns decorated by local schools and community groups .
Hadlow ’ s own Shaun will have a suitably pastoral feel to match its status as Kent ’ s only rural and land-based college . It also showcases the skills of North Kent College ’ s art students who were responsible for decorating Shaun .
The free trail will run from 29 June to 30 August and builds on the success of 2021 ’ s inaugural art trial , Elmer ’ s Big Heart of Kent Parade . This saw a number of beautifully designed elephant sculptures decorating the streets and parks of Maidstone with the sculptures later being sold at auction to raise a staggering £ 312,750 to support the work of the Heart of Kent Hospice .
