Poppy Hollis is proud to be a woman in business . Specialising in branding , interiors , portraits , travel and events , her journey began with a long-standing passion for the creative arts , and was also greatly inspired by her successful fashion photographer godmother .
Determined to reach for her dreams , Poppy took a degree in photography and styling back in 2011 , and the rest is history .
Wanting to support other independent businesses , Poppy also is also pleased to be a positive part of the Kentish business community .
“ Although in many instances I work internationally , I have never lost sight of the home market and I am currently focused on working with small Kent businesses ,“ she says . “ It is very rewarding working on a one-to-one basis with the owners of these small businesses and I have made many new friends .”
MADE BY MOI UK madebymoiuk
Loving foodie Priya Chauhan began Made by Moi UK in 2007 , wanting to share her love of wholesome and delicious baking with others . With a natural creative flair from a background in art , design and fashion , Priya began her journey baking for her children ’ s birthdays and for loved ones , which prompted her husband to suggest she turn her passion into a business .
Today , Made By Moi UK supplies gorgeous sweet treats and bakes for a local coffee shop . Priya was also keen to touch on her thoughts of being a woman in the business industry .
“ Being a woman in business gives me the freedom and independence to drive my passion the way I want ; having a daughter who is our future and living in a world which is so different to when I was young , I want to show her and other young women that you can do it , follow your dreams and keep going ,” she says .
“ No matter how many knockbacks or businesses in competition there are , keep going as there is room for everyone . My heart is invested and my apron is not ready to be hung up .”
ONCE UPON THE MAT www . onceuponthemat . co . uk adele _ onceuponthemat
After the birth of her little boy , Rafi , and upon completing a Masters by Research degree in theology , Adele Quittenden launched Once Upon the Mat , aiming to offer expert advice , tools and yoga sessions , focusing in particular on children and teens within nurseries , schools and holiday camps . Also qualified in pregnancy and postnatal yoga , as well as baby massage , Adele is dedicated to guiding everyone to support their mental and physical health .
“ I started regularly practising yoga at the age of 12 but back then there were no kids ’ yoga classes , so kids had to attend an adult class , which is very different ,” she says .
“ After the birth of my son in 2015 , I experienced postnatal depression and birth trauma and felt passionately about supporting others in their mental health and wellbeing journey .” Once Upon The Mat is currently partnered with 15 regular schools in Kent and hopes to expand on this to further reach and educate the younger generation in the world of wellbeing .
