SIDEWAYS MEDIA CELEBRATES PRESTIGIOUS FAMILY AWARD WIN
The team at Sideways Media is celebrating after winning the prestigious Best Family Business - Ashford award at the Business Awards Kent , and being recognised as finalists in the Creative , Digital & Innovation category , too .
For winning Best Family Business , Sideways ’ founders Adam and Samantha Ready were commended on how ‘ their family values , ethos and family members have guided the development of the business ’.
These awards recognised not only Sideways publishing Kent ’ s largest and most widely distributed luxury lifestyle magazine , insideKENT , alongside annual guide Kent Staycation , and quarterly publication A Kentish Ceremony magazine , as well as a number of other print publications , but also their marcomms work for clients including Kent Crisps and as Ashford Borough Council ’ s appointed agency for Elwick Place , for which they were responsible for events such as ASHFOOD ! Food & Drink Festival and the Big Christmas Lights Switch On .
Speaking on their awards win , Sideways MD Sam Ready , said : “ We ’ re so proud to win the Ashford Family Business Award for the second year running ! It wouldn ’ t be possible without the support of our family and the hard work of our work family , the incredible Sideways team .”
This award comes as two of Sideways Media ’ s clients , Elwick Place ’ s Matches and Picturehouse Cinema also received accolades .

The Americana festival , set to return to Eridge Park for its fifth year this June , has announced international country superstar Sheryl Crow as its first headline act .
Crow is set to headline the park ’ s main stage on Saturday 15 June 2024 , the midpoint of the weekend festival which runs from 14 - 16 June , with fans expected to enjoy a career-spanning set from the nine-time Grammy Award winner and recent inductee to the esteemed Rock & Roll Hall of Fame , including new music from Evolution , her recently announced 11th studio album due for release in March .

Matches Sports Bar & Social , Elwick Place ’ s social sports bar is celebrating a double win after they were awarded Most Promising New Business 2023 at the prestigious Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Business Awards , and Best Start-Up at the Business Awards Kent - Ashford .
While Ashford ’ s Picturehouse - the sixscreen cinema with restaurant , bar and community space in Elwick Place - was a finalist in the Business Awards Kent - Ashford , recognised for its outstanding service ethos in the Customer Service Award category .
Commenting on the awards , Jon Shepherd , owner of Matches said : “ What an amazing couple of weeks for Matches . We ’ re thrilled to receive these awards , and would like to say thank you to our outstanding team and our amazing supporters for being our driving force in this remarkable journey .”
The award wins come after a hugely successful few months at Elwick Place , which entered the festive season celebrating the opening of Virtual Recreation , a new VR gaming hub , and the success of the Big Christmas Lights Switch On that launched Ashford ’ s Carnival of the Baubles .
