FESTIVE FOLIAGE Christmas trees form the centrepieces of all festive celebrations , and their decorations are often handed down as part of family traditions . Each tree takes about 12 years to grow to maturity and is handpruned to retain the traditional shape , making them the perfect addition to your home .
Which tree to choose ?
• POT GROWN These are ideal if you are eco-conscious as they can be taken back out into the garden at the end of the festivities where they can , with a little encouragement ( feed and water during the summer ), increase in size for use the following year .
• FRESH CUT TREES The different varieties of Christmas trees have their own winning characteristics , whether a particular colour , a strong scent , or wider spaced branches for bigger decorations . The team can pick your tree , net it and carry it to the car for you .
Treat your tree with kindness ! Your Christmas tree will last longer in a room that is below 18 ° C . Try to avoid positioning your tree near a radiator or a draft . As soon as you get your tree home , remove the netting and shake it out allowing the branches to relax and start to drop . Saw off 2 cm from the bottom of the trunk and place it in a bucket of water . The water will allow the tree to rehydrate .
Once in position , fill up the reservoir in your stand and top it up daily with cold water to help reduce needle drop .
