Founded by Rafael Museri and Daniel Rudasevski in a small fishing town in Panama in 2007 , recognising that they had built a tightknit social circle of locals and travellers , the real estate developers formed their first official Selina base . Fast-forward through an astounding rate of growth and global dominance and today you ’ ll find a welcoming Selina hub in over 110 destinations in every corner of the globe from Miami to Porto .
If you were to throw around the UK ’ s most sought after cultural and inclusively artistic destinations the chances are Selina has added them to its ever growing portfolio . Joining the ranks of Brighton , Manchester , Liverpool and Camden , Selina Margate followed its latter end of 2022 soft launch with a ‘ proper ’ summer reopening in May 2023 .
Primely situated in the buzz of Kent ’ s retro seaside town , Margate ’ s Cliftonville , the concept here is as laid back as it is evocative .
The building is an impressive sprawling Victorian sea-facing wonder , with typical white stonework painted in a divine rich deep blue , picking out the colours of Turner ’ s favourite sea and skyscape against its traditional brick facade . Where Selina ’ s exterior is a statement of moody dark blue , internally the decor is a palette of soft terracotta and sand hues offset with pops of teal , curved cane furniture and swinging woven chandeliers . There is no rush , no pretension and a carefree , yet attentive approach to everything on offer .
Take a seat at the deep terracotta coffee bar , grab a shared-space co-working hotspot , head outside to the large yet secluded garden , take a seat in the restaurant for small plate bites or curated cocktails , or of course head to your room to make a stay of it .
Selina ’ s modern bohemian nomadic vibe is echoed in the bedrooms , too .
Offering a range of affordable and familyfriendly abodes , guests can choose from a range of categories from the basement shared dorms to the seaview splendour of ‘ The Suite ’.
Combining statement design with classic comfort , striking decor such as the cane headboard of
