Prepare to get those muscles working as you use hot pestles and mortars to grind the cocoa beans to paste before adding sugar to your taste and setting into an iconic HOTEL Chocolat mould . As they set , you ’ ll have the chance to explore the Shoreditch / Harbour Arm vibe project , enjoying your choice of cacao-inspired cuisine from the street food trucks – such as the cacao burger , white chocolate mac n cheese and ice cream drenched in melted chocolate , as well as pulling up a stool for a chocolate cocktail or two at the bar , all enjoyed alongside incredible views of the Rabot Estate , and backed with a clear sustainability commitment . ST LUCIA BAMBOO RAFTING
Born out of lockdown , and pioneered by locals from the nearby town , St Lucia Bamboo Rafting launched in early 2023 to offer guests a unique opportunity to glide along one of St Lucia ’ s largest and longest waterways , the Roseau river , located just 20 minutes away from the cruise-ship harbour of Castries .
Handmade from local bamboo on the island , guests are encouraged to sit back , rum punch in hand , as enthusiastic local guides use poles to navigate your private river rafts on a journey of birds , butterflies and tropical treasures in a beautiful rainforest setting ; with four packages on offer all including a range of local beer , sodas , water and return transportation for guests .
Our private raft with beach BBQ lunch began with the history of the river , information about local fruits and a pitstop for a fresh coconut from Carl ’ s riverside terrace , before venturing to explore the depths of the mangroves and landing at the beach for a special meal on the sand . Prepared by a local chef using fresh , local ingredients on a beach BBQ , we enjoyed pumpkin soup , creole grilled chicken with rice and salad , and rum cake before making our journey back to dry land .
