NEW BOUTIQUE HOTEL OPENS IN BROMLEY
Brama , Bromley ’ s newest and only boutique hotel , has opened in time to welcome guests for summer .
The new lifestyle hotel is part of the major renovation of Bromley Old Town Hall following its addition to the Heritage at Risk register in 2009 , bringing a new lease of life to the much-loved historical building and surrounding area , and follows the successful launch of brasserie Dorothy and Marshall which opened in November 2022 .
HEART OF KENT HOSPICE LAUNCHES 2023 SUNFLOWER APPEAL
One of Heart of Kent Hospice ’ s flagship events , the Sunflower Appeal , is an opportunity to remember the smiles and memories that you have shared with loved ones using sunflowers ; the very picture of summer .
Three special events will take place on 7 and 11 June 2023 in the beautiful hospice garden where everyone can spend time together appreciating the garden and viewing the wooden sunflower dedications .
Everyone attending can have the opportunity to dedicate a wooden sunflower in memory of a loved one . All donations made will ensure local families and their loved ones can receive specialist care and support in their place of choice – at home , in the community or at the hospice .
Sylvia Rothschild , spiritual care lead at the hospice said : “ At Heart of Kent Hospice , we talk with patients and families about the importance of creating and sharing treasured and beautiful memories of loved ones . With that in mind , and the warmer weather just around the corner , we hope you will join us in the beautiful hospice garden to create a display of wooden sunflowers , each one honouring someone special .”

MILLWOOD RAISES £ 6,855 FOR ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
CLIVE TURNER IN ACTION AT THE LONDON MARATHON
Kent-based homebuilder Millwood Designer Homes has raised an incredible £ 6,855 for the Royal British Legion Industries ( RBLI ). Supporting army veterans across the UK , Millwood ’ s managing director Nick Stonley and site manager Clive Turner undertook their own personal challenges to raise crucial funds for the worthy cause .
In March , Nick participated in the RBLI ’ s Great Tommy Sleep Out , braving a wet and windy night under a makeshift shelter in Fort Amherst in aid of the charity . While the challenge certainly does not replicate homelessness , the experience gives an idea of the conditions faced by far too many veterans across the country . Following Nick ’ s fantastic fundraising efforts , Clive successfully ran the London Marathon in April following months of intensive training . Taking part in the testing 26.2 mile route through London , Clive raised an impressive total of £ 1,200 , completing the marathon in an incredible 4 hours and 21 minutes .

KENT ’ S LEADING OUTDOOR THEATRE COMPANY AND RENOWNED MULTI-ARTS FESTIVAL ANNOUNCE UNIQUE COLLABORATION FOR SUMMER 2023
As Changeling Theatre celebrates its 22nd year of outdoor touring , it has announced an exciting double bill collaboration with renowned multi-arts festival JAM on the Marsh ( JAM ) in the commissioning of new music for their outdoor tour from Kent-born composer , James Aburn .
Changeling Theatre will perform a comedy double bill of Shakespeare ’ s Love ’ s Labour ’ s Lost alongside Richard Brinsley Sheridan ’ s comic masterpiece The School for Scandal throughout July and August at some of Kent ’ s most glorious venues , with new original scores provided by the acclaimed Kent-born composer . The tour will kick off as the opening performance of JAM on the Marsh on Tuesday 4 July and then complete its JAM residency on Thursday 6 July .
