Korker Sausages is a family business story full of passion and determination to succeed . It all started in a small butcher ’ s shop in the Kent village of Rolvenden , which Jim Hoad originally rented in 1959 . With the business proving successful , Jim was then able to buy the shop two years later . It was here that the original Korker Sausage was invented by following a recipe that has been in the Hoad family for four generations . The response from customers was so good that Jim made the decision to shut the shop and concentrate on the wholesale production of Korker Sausages . To this day , the factory remains in the village of Rolvenden and continues to be run by the next generation of the Hoad family .

Park Farm is a low intensity pasture farm rearing cattle and sheep for a discerning butchery outlet in the village of Hawkhurst . Attention to detail and quality is at the centre of their ethos to produce and sell the very best . Park Farm rear Sussex cattle and Romney sheep that are indigenous to the area on traditional pastures . Their methods are environmentally sensitive , with low food miles , while working in harmony with the countryside . Their aim is to create the best flavours from the diverse grasses available to us while rearing stock that thrives within the environment that it lives . The shop is a traditional village butcher committed to offering their own locally generated genuine free-range , grass fed , quality stock . Traceability is the guarantee they give to their customers . A large blackboard informs customers about where the meat on display comes from including the herd / flock and the address of the farm .

We all know beer goes brilliantly with BBQs , but for those that prefer a little fizz with their food , we highly recommend Anna de Codorníu Brut Cava . Named in honour of the heiress of the Codorníu estate who united the Codorníu and Raventós families by marriage in 1659 , this delicious Cava is a blend of 70 % chardonnay , 10 % macabeo , 10 % parellada and 10 % xarel-lo grapes , the latter three being the traditional varieties of grape used to make Cava in Catalonia . Light , aromatic and very fresh , this fizz is beautifully delicate with notes of peach , apple and gentle citrus - it ’ s a perfect pairing with barbecued meat , fish and tasty summer salads .
