STEP INTO A VICTORIAN KITCHEN AT PENSHURST PLACE
A new interactive Victorian kitchen exhibition will enable visitors to walk through time and experience history in a different way at Penshurst Place in the Weald of Kent , revealing a part of the house and antique family items that , for many years , have been behind closed doors .

‘ The Kitchen at Penshurst ’, features over 125 pieces of antique copperware and cooking equipment , an assortment of original Victorian furniture , and authentic recipes from a bygone era . Officially opened at Easter , it ’ s sure to be a popular addition for visitors to this authentic stately home .
Dr The Hon Philip Sidney , heir to Penshurst Place , said : “ It ’ s wonderful to be returning the old kitchen to its original purpose , and to be able to share the house ’ s history of food and cooking . Penshurst Place has a long-standing tradition of entertainment and hospitality , from hosting Henry VIII for a banquet in 1519 to being an award-winning wedding venue today , and it is great that we can open the kitchen up to show how everyone would have been kept fed and watered in the nineteenth century . The range of pots , pans and utensils is aweinspiring – I ’ m glad to say that things are a lot less complicated when the family cooks nowadays !”
Penshurst Place & Gardens will be open to the public every day until 29 October , access to The Kitchen at Penshurst exhibition is included in the admission price to the house .
EXCITING 2023 SEASON AWAITS AT DREAMLAND MARGATE
Following significant renovations over the winter , Dreamland Margate has opened for the 2023 season with a new family rollercoaster and packed roster of live music and events .
Alongside the much loved Scenic Railway , the UK ’ s oldest wooden roller coaster , and the iconic Big Wheel , guests can look forward to the largest ever programme of live entertainment too , with gigs from the likes of Rag n Bone Man , The Streets , Placebo , Tom Jones , and Queens of the Stone Age set to take to the outdoor stage . Pop-up activations , art installations and free outdoor screenings from the Scenic stage are also set to entertain .
FINAL CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR BROMLEY STAGING OF THE BIRDS AND THE BEES
Final casting has been announced for The Birds and the Bees , which commences its UK tour this month , as Jacob Bukasa and Laura Doddington join the previously announced cast Helen Lederer and Michael Starke .
The smash-hit Canadian comedy written by Mark Crawford has been reimagined for a UK audience , relocating the play from modern-day Canada to Norfolk with additional material by James McDermott . Following a short critically acclaimed UK premiere in 2022 , it will now visit The Churchill Theatre in Bromley Monday 31 July - Saturday 5 August .
