As we enter the new season , not only are we greeted with new shoots and the promise of light , but also the buzz ( or haunting reminder ) of the ‘ spring clean ’. For some of us , this is an excuse to purchase a label maker and fancy new sponges . However , for the majority , the pressure of getting things sorted is just a little bit too much .
Perhaps you have those doors of certain rooms that are always kept shut when guests visit , or maybe those dreaded ‘ bits and bobs ’ cupboards never seeing the light of day , whatever yours may be , we have all stood in front of them with the thought of spring looming , only to swiftly close the doors again out of pure fear and bewilderedness .
To help you tackle those aforementioned house bugbears , here ’ s our top tips to have you entering the upcoming month with a spring in your step !
Break it down ...
As the famous saying goes ‘ Rome wasn ’ t built in a day ’, an outlook we should take when approaching our homes . In fact tackling one space at a time is better than nothing at all . The overflowing pantry one day , and the neglected shower screens the next . Knowing that whichever step you take to refresh your home is a good one . Life is busy , and blitzing top to bottom , understandably , is last on our lists .
Days solely allotted to turning our lives around can be unrealistic for some , and end in putting it off all together .
Getting a plan of action in place , either setting aside pockets of time amongst a hectic schedule to approach one task , or allocating chores to all members of the household , can help with making it a lot less daunting than the long list of jobs first presented .
