THE HAND AND SCEPTRE REOPENS AFTER REFURB
Following an extensive and exciting refurbishment The Hand and Sceptre , in Southborough , Tunbridge Wells has reopened its doors with a new menu and new look .
Serving a top-quality menu featuring fresh flavours inspired by the seasons and modern world-food trends , visitors can choose from a broad range of premium grill dishes , plenty of healthier and lower calorie options as well as from the dedicated vegan menu . Drinkers are not forgotten either , with a new cocktail menu too .
STREET FOOD VILLAGE OPENS FOR SUMMER SEASON AT MACKNADE FOOD HALL
This April marks the grand re-opening of the Food Village at Macknade in Faversham . Now in its third year , the Food Village is a vibrant outdoor space adjacent to the main food hall , dedicated to serving up the best street food that Kent has to offer .
The Little Katsu Kitchen and Mamie ’ s Crepes will both be returning for the 2023 season and new trader Alex Edwards of Al Taco will be joining them with his signature birria tacos and other Mexican specialties .
Macknade themselves will be serving up light lunches , alongside hot and cold drinks , plus wood-fired pizza to accompany their live music sessions on the first Friday of every month . To celebrate the re-opening , Macknade will be hosting a launch party on Easter Friday ( April 7 ) from 6pm , with live music from Miss Holiday Swing .
Food Village traders are open Thursday - Sunday every week , in addition to Macknade ’ s menu , which will be served daily .
OUTDOOR REFRESH AT THE FERRY HOUSE INN
One of Kent ’ s most beautiful waterside dining spots just got all the easier to enjoy , following an exciting refurbishment of its outdoor dining area .
The Ferry House ’ s outside area now boasts a new glass balustrade , offering unrestricted views of their privileged spot beside the Swale estuary in Harty , on the Isle of Sheppey . A newly laid terrace , new outdoor furniture and festoon lighting are also welcome additions to diners and B & B guests alike , who visit to experience the wild beauty of the Kent coast and enjoy awardwinning menus born of their large kitchen garden , family farm and local family estate . With the terrace and furnishings already in place , the last stage of the refurbishment will be completed by early April - just in time for alfresco dining in the Easter sunshine .
