Why are you based in Kent ?
Following the birth of our two adorable children , we moved to Kent to be closer to our family . We have loved living in Kent , making it our home . Being based in Hythe and living by the sea is something we treasure , respect and find very relaxing and inspiring . Occasionally we skip over to France for a day trip and come home with lots of delicious goodies and wines , which is one of our favourite family things to do . However , we love using most of our ingredients sourced from suppliers in Kent . With so many gorgeous vineyards carefully cared for by their owners opening up , we enjoy purchasing from privately owned producers and using their beautiful products .
During the last couple of years , Simpsons has become our go-to vineyard . Our favourite red wine is called The Rabbit Hole ; totally delicious , and we recommend slightly chilling it before drinking . Woodchurch also does a charming fizz . We also love the Chapel Down Still Kits Coty Baccus , which is delicious and best served with fish straight from Folkestone Harbour or enjoy it with a grazing board incorporating cured meats and local cheeses . For our rosé choice , we would go straight back to Simpsons as theirs is delicious .
We love cooking , and to complement our wedding and events catering business , we are thrilled to be opening a brand-new deli restaurant in Hythe , Romney Marsh . At The Truffle Pig , we will create delicious grab-and-go dishes for customers such as
Airbnb holidaymakers to take away , including hampers perfect for taking to the beach on a hot sunny day . In addition , there will be dine-out food to enable customers to host their own dinner parties . We launched this successful service during the pandemic , so we look forward to introducing Touchays Boxed again . The deli also has a restaurant area where our chefs create beautiful fresh dishes during the day . These dishes will also be available through the deli , but the beautifully designed space enables our clients to sit in and enjoy the food and a delicious range of fresh drinks handpicked by us from local suppliers with friends and family .
On Friday and Saturday evenings , our team of chefs will get wildly creative , organising an intimate tasting evening for our clients to indulge and enjoy a fivecourse tasting menu .
Tell us about the dishes and menu you have created ?
We love creating contemporary menus that include the perfect canapes , contemporary feasting menus , food stations , and desserts made using the freshest ingredients from scratch , and we pride ourselves in catering for all dietary requirements .
What is your signature / favourite dish ?
Touchays is known for creating bespoke menus for all our clients so that every couple has a different menu . We pride ourselves in listening to our client ’ s preferences and tastes and what they love to eat ,
and we then tailor-make each menu with this in mind . We use local businesses to help us execute these menus . We love being creative , and we like dishes and elevate them to a creative and inspiring level to leave our clients ’ guests wowed and delighted with the food experience .
As well as delivering the most incredible menus with impeccable service , give Touchays a prop , and we will creatively use this throughout events . We love table styling that will really wow our clients ’ guests .
What is your guilty pleasure ?
I love nothing better than going to the local fishmongers , a vineyard or the local fruit and vegetable market , picking the most exciting of ingredients and then , when I get home , creating something seasonal and delicious for my family and friends to share .
