We ’ ll start with drinks …
As we are in a time so intently committed to the adoration of cocktails , it came as no surprise that M & S have crafted some festive tipples ready to be poured straight from bottle to glass with no fuss and enjoyed immediately . This includes the sloegroni , a scrumptious seasonal take on Italian cocktail favourite the negroni but blended with amaro and vermouth and bursting with fruity sloe flavours . The blueberry , elderflower and gin bramble was another tremendous tipple - a sweet and refreshing take on this berry flavoured beauty starring London dry gin with lemon juice , blueberries and elderflower . Other favourites included a golden limited-edition prosecco and clementine gin Martini cocktail , packed with warming festive spices and vibrant blood orange .
Seasons eatings
It wouldn ’ t be M & S without wowworthy party food . Think reindeershaped steamed bao buns , a brandnew mouth-watering garlic butter brioche and Camembert wreath , and Cornish cruncher bites featuring risotto with a rich creamy cheese sauce and topped with crispy breadcrumbs . Team them with the crispy bacon mac and cheese bites ( editor ’ s pick !) and mini steak sandwiches to create the ultimate indulgent festive feast . For an easy-peasy Boxing Day meal , M & S boast a luxury handcrafted pie filled with turkey , chicken , smoked bacon and pork , a sausage roll garland , a creamy veggie cheese pie and a cranberry-topped pork pie .
Festive firsts
When it comes to Christmas cakes , M & S has a simply spectacular array this year . A truly magnificent winner was the caramelised cookie cup mince pie ; an ingenious take on the classic mince pie using a hybrid mix of shortcrust pastry and cookie dough . Showstoppers take centre stage in the form of the triple-chocolate panettone and a perfectly matured cherry and orange christmas pudding wreath . There is also a festive first in the form
Top of the chocs of the ‘ panettoughnut ’, a miniature mix of panettone and doughnut . Promising to be a hit with all the children is the white chocolate helter skelter cake : topped with a fun chocolate slide for edible marbles to roll down , this topping lifts off to reveal a little penguin hiding underneath ! Last but not least , we can ’ t forget the festive Colin the Caterpillar ( including mini Colins ) that have wrapped up for winter with little chocolate hats .
M & S have pulled out all the stops when it comes to fun and festive chocs . The giant popcorn wreath is made from sweet and salty popcorn coated in milk chocolate topped with colourful jelly beans and Christmas tree sprinkles . Chocoholic Jenga-lovers rejoice , for chocolate fun gets interactive with the chocolate topple tower - stack the milk , blond , dark and white chocolate blocks , then pull them out one by one , just don ’ t let it topple over ! Looking for a touch of luxury ? The pretty ‘ oh Christmas tree ’ chocolates feature a selection of handdecorated delights filled with tangy fruit , crunchy-nut and gooey caramel centres .
