Perched opposite Canterbury ’ s historic city wall , The Corner House ethos is all about simple food , done well while showcasing the best of Kentish produce . This Christmas they invite you , friends , colleagues and family to indulge in their Christmas party menu priced at £ 39 for a three-course lunch or £ 44 for a three-course dinner with lunch being served from 12pm – 3pm and dinner from 5.30pm – 9.30pm . Festive menu highlights include starters such as mosaic of cod and chicken liver parfait . Mains embrace all the Christmas tradition we know and love but with a special Corner House twist : confit turkey thigh with goose fat fondant potato and festive trimmings ; a slow braised lamb shoulder with dauphinoise potatoes , seasonal vegetables and lamb jus ; and a vegan option of roasted butternut squash with curried chickpeas , red onion salsa and sesame whipped tofu . After a main fit for a Tudor king , finish off with banoffee pie ; Christmas pudding with brandy butter ; or chocolate mousse with mulled wine , poached pear and honeycomb . For parties that still have room , why not order a round of strong coffees and the Cheesemakers of Canterbury cheeseboard .

Enjoy a luxurious wine lunch with Gusbourne , situated in their tasting rooms with extensive views across the estate . Starting with a concise tutored tasting of two wines , the experts will then introduce you to what they produce from the beautiful surrounding landscape . They will then take a step back , letting you enjoy a set three-course menu with your guests , uninterrupted . Over lunch , Gusbourne will serve their award-winning sparkling and still wines , which have been selected and expertly paired with the menu by master sommelier Laura Rhys and head chef Anthony Coppard .
On Sunday 11 December , for £ 110 per person from 12pm until 4pm , Gusbourne will be holding an exclusive Christmas event perfect for both wine lovers and appreciators of English Wine Country alike . Some of Gusbourne ’ s most prestigious wines are those that have developed on their lees inside the bottle over an extended period of time . Spending up to and in excess of around eight years before disgorgement , these wines are incredibly rare and through this slow and gentle process acquire a uniquely rich and complex range of flavours . Gusbourne meticulously tastes each wine through this development to ensure that it is released at the perfect moment .
In celebration of this , they invite you to join winemaker , Alastair Benham , for a special winery tasting and four-course dining experience at The Nest . Throughout the day you will enjoy a selection of wines , each with different qualities from extended lees ageing . This will include the exclusive addition of their new-release Brut Reserve 2015 Late Disgorged . These fantastic wines will be tasted amongst tanks and barrels within the winery and set within a carefully paired tasting menu showcasing some of the finest of local ingredients .
