Cheers to Kentish Christmas wine
It wouldn ’ t be Christmas in Kent without celebrating the best tipples from English Wine Country and deciding which ones to have on your table this year . Family run vineyard , Terlingham ( www . terlinghamvineyard . co . uk ) near Folkestone have some really special festive wine tastings planned for exactly that . The tastings will be really personal and hosted by sisters Caroline and Jackie who own and run the vineyard . They will be held in the barn , which is located in the vineyard itself , so picturesque wintery views of the vines can be enjoyed . There will be warm blankets and hot water bottles to ensure cosiness as guests taste a selection of Terlingham ’ s award-winning wines accompanied by a festive cheeseboard , mince pies , tea , coffee and cake .
Kent Wine School is running lots of brilliant sessions for wine connoisseurs , those looking to expand their wine knowledge and for those who just appreciate a nice tipple over the festive season . These include Port & Cheese tastings , Ultimate Christmas Cheese and Wine Experiences , A Classic French Christmas : Wines from our Cellar , Christmas Rum Tasting and Saturday Lunch and Wine Tasting . A new Kentish Christmas dining experience
The Counter , ( www . thecounterhomeedition . com / @ the _ counter _ tw ) a new pop-up residency by chef Robin Read will run until 24 December at the awardwinning Daily Bread in Rusthall , Tunbridge Wells . From £ 60 per person , guests can indulge in a seasonal six-course tasting menu using the best local , wild and foraged produce . Robin is a passionate supporter of artisan farmers , growers and producers and a strong advocate of naturally sourced produce , especially from the British Isles . The Counter menu is full of the best local products such as venison from Eridge Park and wild porcini mushrooms from the woods around Rusthall and Langton Green . Homemade sourdough bread , blackberries , scallops , Sussex cream and dairy all feature on the menu , and fish is caught off Rye harbour . There will be one sitting for dinner on Thursday , Friday and Saturday with some tables being communal , and others for twos and fours . Drinks from 7.30 / 7.45pm to sit for 8pm .

Produced in Kent , the membership organisation supporting the county ' s independent artisan producers , have launched a Christmas Kindness competition as an effortless way to support local and
spread happiness . Join in the festive fun and support your local shops , crafters , or producers to be in with a chance to win two Christmas hampers ( worth over £ 500 each ) filled with festive Kentish goodies .
