Fine Grind , Tunbridge Wells www . finegrind . coffee
Established by two brothers with a shared passion for good coffee in 2013 , Fine Grind can be found on the pretty high street of Tunbridge Wells . “ We ’ ll make no apology for it , we are obsessed with coffee culture through and through . Since 2013 , we ’ re constantly in pursuit of the perfect cup , we grind , dose , extract and pour our best daily , consistently and obsessively ,” say co-founders Matt and James . “ Simply put , we believe in drinking great coffee and building genuine relationships by being friendly , real and providing a relaxed , informal service with good vibes . Together these things create an atmosphere that feels as warm and wonderful inside as the cup you ’ ll enjoy . But , we are more than that . We have made Tunbridge Wells our home and are part of a community . It is our aim to ensure we give back where we can . Providing training and guidance to the young , sometimes those not so young too , and also a serene sanctuary to those that require a little downtime to relax and just be .”
Offering a loyalty scheme , tasting nights of premium coffee and the opportunity to enjoy their single origin coffee at home , there is so much more to Fine Grind than just being a simple coffee shop . Passion and conviction is at the core of the establishment , its essence seeping into every cup . If this wasn ’ t enough , Fine Grind now offers an upgraded food menu to send your taste buds into overdrive .
Fringe + Ginge , Canterbury @ fringeandgingecoffee
Offering sleek Scandi-style minimalism from a corner of Canterbury ’ s pretty Northgate , which is awash with independent shops , hairdressers and restaurants , you will find Fringe + Ginge . Serving supreme cups of coffee from a space full of natural light and perfect for people watching , Fringe + Ginge was opened just before lockdown by Olivia Walsh ( owner of the fringe ) and Alfie Edwards ( owner of a ginger beard ). This difficult start proved to be a perfect way for this London couple to introduce themselves and their venture to the neighbourhood , really getting to know their customers who at the time were made up of locals only . Visit Fringe + Ginge and you will be served with a serene yet friendly atmosphere , in which you can choose from the house blend from Campbell and Symes ( www . campbellandsyme . co . uk ) or the fortnightly rotating filter / retail guest roasts . With only a select amount of seats , this offers a quiet haven for drinkers inside but its central location also offers the opportunity to wander around Canterbury ’ s picturesque streets and marvel at the city ’ s historic architecture with coffee ( and toastie ) in hand .
