toaster , mini fridge , and even a Nespresso machine – perfect for making a brew from the complimentary tea , coffee and milk ( all local !) provided on arrival – there ’ s even a space-saving fold up table and enough chairs , crockery and marshmallows for toasting for the whole family too . Opting for the breakfast box add-on meant we arrived to a mini fridge bursting with local sausages , bacon , farmhouse butter and eggs , as well as a bottle of Biddenden apple juice that the kids loved so much they had to go begging for another one for breakfast ( a request met with smiles from the truly welcoming Bouldens ).
Aside from being cleverly built and beautifully decorated , The Romney is also cleverly positioned . Located in a separate field from the existing huts ( much to the relief of parents trying to control the school-holiday excitement decibels and to the privacy aid of those staying in the two-person huts ), The Romney is not only positioned to command exceptional views of the Marsh ’ s sparsely populated wetland - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - its sunsets and its stars , but also to afford privacy and allow the exciting addition of an outside bathtub , swing chair and firepit ( hence those marshmallows !).
Faster than you can say , ‘ close the gate ’, ‘ stop chasing the sheep ’, ‘ the wagon is for your luggage , it is not your spaceship ’, and ‘ sssshhh the cockerel doesn ’ t need you to mimic him every three seconds …’ the whippet five-year-old was undressed and had plunged into a bubblefilled tub of pampering where he predominantly remained for our two-day stay - marshmallows , apple juice and all !
But that ’ s not all there is to get excited about here …

If you want to make the most of your stay , you can of course cook at the huts too . As well as the breakfast box , you can pre-order everything from ‘ finish-at-the-hut ’ dinners to picnics , or even a BBQ box that can be cooked hutside at the firepit , all while wrapped to cosy contentment in Romney Marsh woollen blankets .
