Hydrate !

SIMPLY DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS WE CAN DO TO OPTIMISE OUR HEALTH AND WELLBEING . MAKING UP AROUND 60 % OF OUR HUMAN BODY , IT COMES AS NO SURPRISE THAT DRINKING WATER IS CRITICAL TO OUR HEALTH . THE WAY WE FEEL ON THE INSIDE AND THE WAY WE LOOK ON THE OUTSIDE IS MUCH DOWN TO STAYING HYDRATED .

As we continue through a hot and dry British summer , the importance of remaining hydrated and remembering to drink plenty of water is key to feeling well and keeping the body functioning properly . The unpleasant effects of dehydration are ones most of us have become familiar with at one time or another , whether that be with headaches , bad skin , nausea , poor digestion , unclear thinking or even kidney problems .

“ Water not only helps our skin ( our body ' s largest organ ) but aids digestion , circulation , absorption and excretion . Where the skin is an organ and has cells just like any other cell in the body , these are made up with water . Without water they will not function at their best .
Drinking plenty of water means your skin will give off a more radiant , healthy , younger looking complexion . Whereas , if you are not taking in a sufficient amount of water , it will in turn cause the skin to be dry , tight and flaky . Dry / dehydrated skin has less elasticity and is more prone to fine lines and wrinkles .
We lose water every day in big quantities , which can be due to simple excretion such as sweating . It is important to remember that it will reach all of our other organs before our skin . Drinking at least eight glasses a day ( recommended ) could eliminate and improve some skin concerns - the most common are acne , dehydrated or aged skin .
Of course , nothing happens overnight but increasing your water intake for the long term should be enough to see hydration and clarity effects in your own skin .”
Sometimes it can be difficult to keep drinking water and remember just how much of it we really need to keep our bodies in optimal hydration and health . Having bottled water on hand makes the process that little but more appealing and can really help with staying hydrated .
