I have always been into fitness and trained as a gymnast and dancer . However , once I turned 45 , I noticed I was putting on weight even though my diet was the same and I was still exercising 3 or 4 times per week . My friends who had also all hit the mid ’ 40 mark were also going through the same issues – aches and pains , waking in the night , becoming over-anxious and a wardrobe full of clothes that no longer seemed to fit any more . Friends were coming to me for advice but the idea of “ train more , eat less ” no longer works in midlife due to our fluctuating hormones and becoming more “ inflamed ” as we age which then leads to weight gain . All very depressing BUT with the right nutrition and targeted exercises , I am able to help women over 40 maintain a strong and healthy mind and body .
With so much going on in midlife – looking after children and ageing parents as well as working – healthy eating and exercising gets relegated to the bottom of the list but it is so important to look after ourselves at this stage of life .
Yes you can go online and search up “ how to eat in midlife ” or “ how to exercise after 40 ” but I wanted a place where women can access all the correct information regarding fitness , diet and lifestyle . Over the last few years I have read , researched and tried and tested all the best methods to age healthfully in midlife and beyond . My clients have access to me either via phone or email and if they feel their motivation flagging , they can get in touch immediately ! I am there to hold their hand every step of the way if that ’ s what they feel they need . Although much of the health and fitness can be accessed online nowadays , I feel that most people want that personal touch , with a way of life completely suited to their situation and lifestyle . Clients find the programme easy to follow and enjoyable and if there is something in the meal plan they are not keen on , I am on hand to recommend an alternative option . After the 30 days , this way of eating becomes a natural way of life .
