ENSURE YOUR CELEBRATION IS BANG ON TREND THIS YEAR WITH THE HELP OF KENTISH WEDDING INDUSTRY EXPERTS .

CAKE

Maddie Allen from Mamafeelgoods based in Bekesbourne near Canterbury is an expert when it comes to crafting beautiful wedding cakes . Maddie told us what she has noticed regarding wedding cake trends this year : “ The recent trend for rustic semi-naked cakes that are finished with a layer of buttercream with the delicious cake flavours peeking through seems to be here to stay . We have also made quite a few with edible flowers this season with coordinating separates as well as in traditional stacked cake form .
My favourite finish however is a crisp fondant-iced cake adorned with delicate handcrafted sugar flowers which can be made to coordinate with the rest of your day . We are seeing an increase in this style in 2022 and going on into next year . Although this can be seen as a more traditional cake , it can also be finished in a more modern style with sharp iced edges and loosely arranged sugar florals . It makes a stunning and unique centrepiece .
When looking to book your wedding cake , a meeting with the cake designer and trying some cake flavours is a fun part of wedding planning ! Having a different flavour of cake for each tier is the norm these days - our most popular bakes chosen are chocolate Guinness cake , carrot cake and lemon cake , shifting away from a classic Victoria sandwich and fruit cake .”
