Summer , summer , summertime …
I can ’ t believe that I am actually sitting here typing a welcome to our most summer lovin ’ issue not in the midst of showers , lockdowns or miserable skies , but instead in the heart of the biggest summer heatwave of our generation !
While on paper the thought of munching a Mars ice cream for breakfast , while sat in less clothes than donned on a jaunt to the Caribbean , in a workingfrom-home daydream of tanning , siestas and cold summer spritzes sang to my inner storyteller / editorlife dream , the reality is a history-repeating-itself dose of summer Covid , while the littlest Readys have been returned to ‘ home-school ’ ( for the love of life itself is this STILL a thing ?!) due to a lack of village water supplies , and everyone at iKHQ is just the irate side of hot and bothered by 9.07am ; I am the personification of the face palm emoji … just a little warmer !
But amongst the chaos , the heat and the reality check of life , what I do have is a bumper packed August issue to be proud of - fit to bursting with all you need to celebrate summer in Kent in style with a side order of love thrown in too !
