Suitable for all generations and in all weathers , the railway is the perfect day out . It is also the perfect place to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries .
The Model Exhibition at New Romney Station is a must-see attraction . Showcasing RHDR memorabilia , past headboards and of course a working model railway , the interactive features are sure to keep the children intrigued , while displays depicting the railway ’ s history always engage the grown-ups .
Set alongside these extensive indoor features , as well as over the bridge , children will find the train-themed outdoor play area . Younger children can enjoy the Tiny Tots Children ’ s Play Area adjacent to the picnic area on the station concourse .
Catering is available at most stations . Dungeness boasts extraordinary views from the End of the Line Restaurant . The Heywood Buffet at New Romney serves up a warming lunch , while the Vintage Tea Room at Hythe Station has plenty of homemade cakes to whet the appetite ( for group bookings only ).
Hythe , Dymchurch , New Romney and Dungeness stations are all host to quality souvenir shops . So whether it ’ s a gift for the children or a nostalgic treat for yourself , there is something for everyone .
