MARLBOROUGH HOUSE SCHOOL CELEBRATE JUBILEE WITH ROYAL STREET PARTY
At Marlborough House School , The Queen ’ s platinum jubilee was celebrated in style with the whole school community coming together for a very British tea party . As the maypole ribbons flew , the children proudly paraded to parents in crowns they had made before taking part in traditional games for the MHS Jubilee Olympics . The school also marked the occasion by planting a field maple for The Queen ’ s Green Canopy . Marlborough House School in Cranbrook is an independent prep school with a distinctly family feel ; small enough for everyone to be known and cared for , while still embracing the future that children will be part of .
HERITAGE EVENTS TO SUPPORT LEEDS CASTLE ’ S CHARITABLE FOUNDATION AT LEEDS CASTLE CONCERT
Every year a charity benefits from a collection raised at the Leeds Castle Concert . This year Heritage Events who organise the event , have chosen the Leeds Castle Charitable Foundation . The Leeds Castle Charitable Foundation is an independent charity that relies solely on visitors , guests and supporters for funding . The last two years have been a testing time for all charities , especially heritage attraction charities , and as a result the Leeds Castle Charitable Foundation needs support to continue to preserve the castle , including its collections and interiors , as well as the wider estate for the benefit of the public and future generations . Leeds Castle is a national treasure , providing a window into over 900 years of history . It is a haven of tranquillity and offers a world of discovery and enjoyment . To ensure that Leeds Castle is preserved and maintained , there is an ongoing programme of maintenance and restoration that requires expertise , care and of course , funding .
KING ’ S SCHOOL ROCHESTER MARKS THE QUEEN ’ S JUBILEE
It was a day of celebration at King ’ s School Rochester as they marked The Queen ' s platinum jubilee with activities across the school . The day began with a whole school service under the outstanding Gaia Exhibit in Rochester Cathedral . The Dean of Rochester led the school in prayer and everyone took a moment to reflect on everything that has happened since Queen Elizabeth ascended the throne in 1953 . At lunchtime , a small audience gathered once again under the Gaia Exhibit to enjoy the Under The Earth concert . There were beautiful performances of music by King ’ s scholars , inspired by the planet we all call home . The main event was a whole school jubilee celebration on the paddock which brought everyone together once again to share in prayer , witness the raising of the flag and enjoy some tea and cakes in the sunshine . Cadets from the Combined Cadet Force then performed a spectacular display where they formed a large 70 across the playing field . The school was also lucky enough to have a local drone photographer , Aerial Imaging South East , capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment .
