MACKNADE OPENS ON FOLKESTONE HARBOUR ARM
Acclaimed Kent foodie treasure , Macknade , is set to open a brand new store on Folkestone ’ s vibrant Harbour Arm , which is already a popular summer hotspot . The artisan farm shop favourite which has strong Italian influences says that the collaboration underlines Macknade ’ s vision of creating , maintaining and enriching communities through quality food and drink experiences , on this occasion collaborating with the Folkestone Harbour Seafront Development Co . to introduce a new dining concept to this fantastic food and drink destination . The latest venture from Macknade will see an informal restaurant space with indoor and outdoor seating for 120 people open on Folkestone Harbour ’ s Harbourside , overlooking the White Cliffs and showcasing a menu that features provenance-rich , quality ingredients cooked simply to bring out their flavours . The restaurant will be complemented by a curated retail range , which includes a selection of produce used on the new menu , as well as wine , beer and cider , and a delicatessen serving cheese , charcuterie and other picnic essentials .
KENT ’ S DO GOOD COFFEE NAMES CHARITY AS BENEFICIARY
The UK ’ s Head & Neck Cancer Foundation has announced that it has been recognised and officially made a beneficiary of Do Good Coffee . This means that a percentage of all Do Good Coffee sales – from both consumer and trade purchases – will now go directly to help fund the charity ’ s work . Frankie Taloen , CEO and founder at Do Good Coffee , said : “ We want to drive philanthropy at a grassroots level by leveraging the nation ’ s growing love of gourmet coffee . We are making a luxury experience accessible in an ethical and morally conscious manner . Our team decided to partner with the Head & Neck Cancer Foundation – as cancer can touch everyone and this type of tumour can be hugely impactful , especially on our senses of taste and smell .” Furthermore , the team behind Do Good Coffee has left the cumulative value of donations uncapped . So , the more coffee sold , the more money will go to HNCF to help save lives . The company roasts its coffee onsite at the Do Good farm in Canterbury .
