HOME + GARDEN
Back to Nature cont ...
“ More than ever , there is a need to surround ourselves with soothing colours that are not only easy to live with but provide warmth and serenity within our living environments . Green is the true colour of nature , one that we feel comfortable with in the home ; it pairs beautifully with a vast array of neutral tones and wood finishes - we naturally accept and enjoy this combination because we are used to seeing so much of it in nature .”
Ruth Mottershead , creative director , Little Greene

ORGANIC TONES

Undoubtedly , earthy tones will instantly make a space feel warm and inviting and opting for an organic or nature-inspired paint scheme seems to be the thing that we are all wanting a piece of right now ; brown in particular . In a literal sense , soil-like earthy tones contribute to a grounding effect ; one that ’ s also soothing and adaptable , creating great foundations for the up-and-coming warm minimalistic look . Out with the white , 2022 paves the way for new neutrals with shades of beige and brown taking centre stage ; we ’ re talking deep rich chocolates , coffee , caramel and tan for the walls , curtains , upholstery and just about anything .
We ’ re also seeing a link to nature through the use of organic greens . Earthy greens invite the outside in , forming a connection with the outside world ; great for smaller living room spaces . For brighter , airier rooms or open-plan kitchen spaces , opt for forest tones that will complement the natural light and create a serene , well-balanced environment . Green will feel tranquil , particularly in busy areas and , especially when paired with dusky pinks and yellows , will feel purposeful and modern . Pair with botanical references or other green elements to really embrace the feeling of the outdoors .

“ Colours of nature , such as earthly beige and warm clay and all shades of green have been a firm favourite for previous seasons , however , over the past year nature has become even more important . The outdoors has been an escape , somewhere to go to recharge our batteries or even just take a break from everything .”
