Bloomingville Chika Print , Sweetpea & Willow TOP TIPS FROM A GALLERY
‘ When hanging an assortment of sizes think about the largest piece being central to the viewer ’ s eyeline . Lots of eclectic pieces together can work , but lay them all out and experiment moving pieces around .’

FIX IT IN PLACE
Ok , so now the important part ; fixing the gallery to the wall . Firstly , our biggest piece of advice is to refrain from punching random holes in the wall unless you are 100 % certain that ’ s where you want and need them . If you ’ re hanging larger pieces , nails may be necessary , but if you can get away with it , use alternatives – easy peel framing stickers work really effectively .
Use an accurate measurement to find the centre of the frame or frame insert and use something to mark this spot . Next , measure from the top of the frame to the picture hooks and mark this on the wall ; this should give you the right spot to put your nail ( if you ’ re using them ). Always have a spirit level ; this will be your best friend , as well as your actual best friend who could be a very handy second pair of eyes to help with getting those lines straight .
OUR TOP TIP : Create mini collections within your collection … Think outside the box and use smaller frames to your advantage . Pairing or grouping images together in mini collections can often work really effectively and could be just what your gallery wall is missing .

“ Don ’ t overhang . Large works particularly need space to breathe .”

OUR TOP TIP : Rope in a friend to help out … Hanging frames isn ’ t the easiest of tasks to execute single handedly , so invite a pair of hands to help out . Working with someone to complete your gallery wall will save time , improve efficiency and also guarantee the straightness of your images – you can ’ t be in the same place at one time ! Also , two pairs of eyes are better than one .
