KENT DRINKS CO . BAR OPENS IN MAIDSTONE
A brand new bar championing Kent spirits , beers , ciders and wines has opened at Love Food @ Lockmeadow . Kent Drinks Co ., which opened at the beginning of last month , is run by Karl Cowell and Roxii Hoare-Smith , the duo behind virtual spirit tasting company , Kent Gin Co . Kent Drinks Co . will continue to celebrate Kentish products supporting local brewers , vineyards and distillers in the county town . Situated in the new food hall in the long-established Lockmeadow Complex , guests can expect alcoholic drinks from local producers including Maidstone Distillery , Anno Distillers , Copper River Distillery , Dudda ’ s Tun , Curious Brewery , Chapel Down and Balfour Wines . Karl Cowell , director at Kent Drinks Co . said : “ We are extremely passionate about serving our customers the finest quality products and supporting local businesses . As our amazing county continues to produce more award-winning drinks , we felt a bar that supports and celebrates Kent produce was exactly what was needed in the county town .”

REBRAND HELPS ARTISAN CONFECTIONER , FUDGE KITCHEN ON THEIR JOURNEY TO BECOMING MORE SUSTAINABLE
British artisan fudge makers , Fudge Kitchen have transformed the branding across their entire product range , shop fronts and website . The new branding sees the Fudge Kitchen logo changing for the first time since 2012 and becoming a far more overt feature across all their product lines . Managing director , Sian Holt said : “ We felt it was the perfect time to explore more sustainable packaging options , while maintaining the artisanal luxury that Fudge Kitchen is known for .” The packaging update has seen them moving to UK-printed packaging , dramatically reducing their carbon footprint . On the outer box of each product , they ’ ve switched to plant-based inks and water-based glues with all packaging FSC certified and recyclable . As part of the rebrand , the Kent-based confectioner has also recently switched to a new and more ethical chocolate supplier , Luker Chocolate . Alongside this , they are beginning to phase out internationally grown cane sugar in favour of beet sugar grown in Norfolk .
LOCAL HIGHAM PUB REOPENS THIS MONTH WITH NEW LOOK , FEEL AND NAME

The Greyhound pub in Higham closed last month and is set to return as The Greyhound at Higham , officially reopening on 2 June . The newly renovated pub will focus on providing quality food and drink and a warm , welcoming atmosphere . Guests can expect an anthology of expertly crafted cask ales alongside a dedicated shelf of malt whiskeys , gins galore and an extensive wine list . Great local food is also at the heart of this venue - legendary pub classics with delightfully fresh modern twists , as well as a range of decadent desserts including an espresso Martini tiramisu adorn the menu . Alongside the dining overhaul , this major refurbishment will exude all the homely features of a traditional country pub . Interiors include a new paint palette of Farrow & Ball colours , roaring open fires , hand-crafted wall panelling and bespoke soft furnishings . Guests will also be able to dine al fresco in the pub ’ s large beer garden .
