Out with the blue and in with green . Green in its many shades has been working its way through our interiors in recent years ; a colour associated with balance , healing and nature , it ’ s been the invigorating makeover choice for many , so it ’ s really no surprise that this versatile colour is sweeping through our kitchen spaces too . Surprisingly versatile , green has rediscovered itself as the new neutral , being incorporated into both traditional and contemporary designs with ease . From bold emerald and rich forest hues to avocado , olive and understated sage tones , green can be adapted to suit all aesthetics and with careful styling can transform any room whatever the shape and size . While deeper , darker greens suit shaker-style kitchens and bring a sense of traditional class and luxe , lighter , pastel shades are a welcoming addition to modern spaces such as on cabinets , walls and even flooring ( if you ’ re feeling brave !). Pair greens with natural finishes and neutral tactile furnishings to create a calming atmosphere . That said , there really aren ’ t any strict rules , just be brave , playful and enliven your kitchen with a healthy dose of green !
