For over 40 years this spectacular event has been the highlight of the Kent social party calendar , offering a mix of much-loved classical favourites alongside new orchestral arrangements of popular songs , all performed live by the acclaimed Royal Philharmonic Orchestra ( RPO ).
From daylight to dusk , the audience will be a sea of Union Jacks , candelabras and smiles . This really is a truly memorable evening with a diverse exhilarating programme . The Leeds Castle Concert will be a celebration of friends and family meeting again this summer , as concertgoers gather in anything from sparkly ball gowns to Union Jack shorts and flip flops ! Corks will be popping across the castle ’ s fairways as friends and family gather again for an afternoon and evening of world-class music set against the historic backdrop of Leeds Castle .
As the gates open and people find their ‘ spot ’ on the hill at the start of this popular annual event , everyone will be in high spirits to be together again , hanging bunting , eating picnics and enjoying the rousing fanfares of the RPO with performances from returning soloists and some new faces .
Down for the Count Swing Orchestra will return to the stage with their electrifying show full of incredible energy and musicianship . The band recreate classic tunes from the swing era but this is no mere nostalgia trip – as each song is performed in their unmistakable style , breathing new life into the best vintage music . Down for the Count will really get the party started with top-class instrumental solos , sublime vocal performances and irresistible humour and joie de vivre .
As the sun sets over the historic 900-year-old castle and the iconic Spitfire roars past in the skies above , candelabras will be lit across the concert site as the music continues until the fantastic firework finale .
