ICONIC MEXICAN FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT TACO BELL TO OPEN IN MAIDSTONE
Taco Bell , famous for its quick but delicious Mexican food and often referred to in American movies , has announced a date for the opening of its first restaurant in the former Bill ’ s restaurant in Week Street , Maidstone . The opening is the second in Kent after Chatham , with head of marketing Lucy Dee commenting : ‘ We ’ re delighted to be able to bring Taco Bell to Maidstone . Kent has been crying out for more Taco Bells and we ’ re very pleased to be able to deliver ; creating local jobs despite challenging circumstances . We look forward to feeding Maidstone residents whether it be via home delivery , click and collect , takeaway or dine in .’ The restaurant will open from 11am until 11pm , seven days a week .
COPPER RIVET RELEASES 3RD WHISKY EXPRESSION
Chatham ’ s Copper Rivet Distillery has launched the third expression of its popular Masthouse Whisky . Named Masthouse Grain Whisky – Pot & Column Distilled , it has used a revolutionary blend of two very distinct distilling processes .
The result is as complex as the process sounds , combining the smooth moreish qualities of the column still with the elegance and complexity of the pot – both processes working their own magic on the three different cereals in the grain recipe .
The launch of the Masthouse Grain Whisky means that Copper Rivet has now released all three of its 2016 harvest whiskies . All were distilled from locally grown cereals from the nearby Isle of Sheppey .
PIG & PORTER ANNOUNCE NEW BEERS AND LAUNCH OPEN DAY
Pig & Porter , an award-winning , micro-brewery based in Tunbridge Wells , has announced three new beers in its range : Altered Egos , a 5.5 % ESB ; Forever Lost , a 5.3 % IPA ; and High as an Elephant ’ s Eye , their 6.2 % NEIPA .
Commenting on the new beers , founder Robin Wright said : ‘ At Pig & Porter , every one of our beers is made with our customers at the heart of their production . It has become a tradition to invite our customers to help us name our beer lines , picked from song lyrics or titles . We are thrilled to announce our line up of three new beers .’
Pig & Porter have also announced their next open day on Saturday 9 April , where the brewery will be open to the general public who will be able to tour , taste and give their feedback on the new beers .
