HAPPY BEDS LAUNCH PARTNERSHIP WITH HOME-START UK BY TRANSFORMING KENT SINGLE DAD ' S LIFE
To help and support families in need this year , Happy Beds , a UK-based furniture retailer , has launched a charity partnership with Home-Start UK ; the local community network of trained volunteers and experts which help families with young children across the UK through challenging times . This included Damien Sutherland and his four young children from Strood , the first to have been helped by the charity partnership . The family were living in temporary accommodation in cramped conditions with barely any furniture , what they had was old and broken . Alongside essentials and support provided by the charity , Damien and his family now have a space where they can relax , read and do their homework . Damien commented : ‘ I ’ m so touched that Happy Beds wanted to help us in this way , they have truly turned this place into a home for me and the children . It ’ s great now to have all my children in a place that feels comfortable and warm .’
CHATHAM HISTORIC DOCKYARD LAUNCHES NEW ROPERY GALLERY
Hundreds of thousands of visitors to The Historic Dockyard Chatham have marvelled at the story of rope and been amazed by the iconic Rope Walk which stretches the length of 33 London buses , and now , thanks to a new Ropery Gallery which doubles capacity to this part of the Dockyard , even more visitors will be able to learn the ropes . Dating back over 400 years , the iconic buildings house machinery from the Industrial Revolution . The new exhibition experience will welcome one of the best collections of rope in the world thanks to the Trust acquiring Des Pawson MBE ’ s vast collection of rope-making and rope related objects from his ( now closed ) Museum of Knots & Sailor ’ s Ropework in Ipswich .
