Tails of Hythe
Sam Poil loves dogs , in fact she has owned German Shepherds pretty much her entire life . So it almost felt natural that after the birth of her second child , and while grooming her own pooch she had her eureka moment ; a Kent based dog grooming service that combined her love of man ’ s best friend with her ambition . A lot of research , and a few qualifications later Tails of Hythe Dog Grooming was born . Forever a hard worker , Sam has worked day and night to establish her business within the local community and it seems that her dedication to marketing , customer service and her doggie clients has paid off , as her services are now booked up for weeks in advance . For those looking to emulate Sam ’ s business success she had a few tips to help along the way , most important of which was to ‘ think outside the box , do something that your competitors aren ’ t doing .’ Making yourself stand out in such a competitive industry is no mean feat , but Sam managed to do just that when she started making videos of her grooms for social media - customers loved it , and have been queuing out the door with their pups ever since !

Little Farmers Club
Growing up on their family farm had a profound impact on Amy and Lucy Bradley , not only did it instill an appreciation for the countryside in them , it also helped them understand how food reaches our plates . Knowing how rare their childhood experience was , they decided they wanted to help educate the younger generation , and so started their business life offering school workshops that brought farming fun into children ' s classrooms around the UK . When 2020 hit , Amy and Lucy decided to take the plunge and launch Little Farmers Club . A company that aims to inspire children to learn about farming , healthy living and sustainability through at-home activity boxes , in-depth school workshops and farm visits . A love for agriculture , a talent for teaching and a passion for working with children have got the sisters making the business game look easy . With plans to launch their first ever physical site on the horizon , we asked Amy and Lucy if there was one moment that really made them fall in love with their work . They happily replied : ‘ Witnessing the sheer delight of a child who ' s grown his first potato before racing to show his parents .’

Not For Humans Boutique
In the summer of 2018 , Debbie Convery ’ s beloved dog Brenda went missing . Distraught , Debbie enlisted the people of Folkestone to help in the search and thankfully Brenda was found and brought home . But the experience had sparked an idea in the then retail manager , having always been an advocate of shopping local , she decided to open a one of a kind pet shop dedicated to all our Kentish furry friends , a shop Debbie aptly named : Not For Humans Boutique . Having worked in retail for almost two decades , not much phases Debbie when it comes to the business , and she has some insightful advice for those looking to follow in her footsteps : ‘ Good customer service will breed more customers , poor customer service will spread like wildfire .’ When we asked Debbie what her goals were for Not For Humans Boutique going forward , she explained that her shop showcases and supports many local creatives , and that her aim is to continue adding new , sustainable and unique products to her shelves . Most would call what Debbie does the best job in the world – and she vehemently agrees ! ‘ What is not to love about being every dog ' s friend ?’
