Opening Heronden Vets was the realisation of a dream for you , but when did you know you wanted to be a vet ?
I am incredibly proud of Heronden Vets because it is the embodiment of my lifelong dreams , hard work and experience .
My journey to becoming a vet hasn ’ t been a conventional or an easy one , but I knew from my earliest childhood that animals were my greatest passion , I was surrounded by them at home and was constantly rescuing injured wild animals to rehabilitate , setting up my own little home hospital !
School wasn ’ t easy for me , however with the determination my parents instilled in me , and the belief that anything is possible , I persevered . So to all would-be vets , never give up on your dreams !
What is it that makes the Heronden Vets approach so different ?
My goal has always been to provide a clinical “ sanctuary ” where our clients can feel confident that we can provide the highest quality , cutting edge , gold standard treatments . I also wanted to have a practice that understands the need to combine comfort and love for our animals , with the relevant support and information that clients need . This wrap around care means that , together , we are best placed to be able to decide on the most appropriate course of action for their animals .
How has veterinary medicine developed in the last 5 years ?
We have seen so much incredible progress in treatments and at Heronden we want to continue to develop the services we offer . Unlike a lot of local practices we deliver a huge range of diagnostics and treatments in-house including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery , radiology , complex lab analysis , stem cell therapy , cryotherapy , acupuncture and K-laser treatment , all of which means that you don ’ t have to wait for , or travel to , referral appointments .
What does the future hold for Heronden Vets ?
We are an independent practice and always will be . We have just set up a satellite practice in Cranbrook and with my amazing team , who make Heronden what it is , we will continue to strive to provide an environment that both the animals and owners enjoy coming to , where they can feel totally confident that their animals are receiving the best possible care .
It has been clear through the pandemic just how important our pets are to our lives – it ’ s only right that we should look after them as they look after us .
