NETFLIX DONATES AFTER LIFE BENCH TO VICTORIA PARK , ASHFORD
As part of a mental health initiative which also celebrates the launch of the new series of Ricky Gervais ' After Life , Netflix will be donating 25 benches to councils across the UK , with the aim that they will provide a place for people to sit , reflect and share .
This includes Ashford ' s Victoria Park , in Jemmett Road . The bench destined for the spot is the only one of the 25 benches that will be placed in Kent . The importance of benches and the way they can bring communities together to share hope , happiness and support features prominently in the much loved programme , the third series of which was released in mid January 2022 .

FIVE GENERATION MEETING FOR KENT CENTENARIAN
Kent law firm Whitehead Monckton have announced Daniel Tozer as their new head of corporate , commercial and employment . Daniel returns to Whitehead Monckton following a seven year absence during which time he became a partner at Asb Law LLP and went on to head the corporate finance team and see through a sale of Asb Law LLP to Knights PLC . His dedication and commitment to his clients saw him awarded the Insider Dealmakers ’ South East Corporate Lawyer of the Year in 2020 .
In a very special and rare meeting , five generations of family got together at Dene Holm Residential Care Home in Northfleet , so 100-year-old resident , Gwen Smith , could meet her first great , great granddaughter , Maeva . Gwen , who will turn 101 next month , already has five grandsons and eight great-grandsons , so she was extremely proud to meet the newest addition and first girl to be born in the family for 75 years .
Gwen ’ s family said : “ It was a very special occasion to get all five generations together , particularly during the pandemic . Strict protocols are in place but the home ’ s manager , Chris , permitted the safe visit for which we are all extremely grateful .” Gwen was born in Essex on 28th February 1921 , she moved to Gravesend as a youngster and went to school in Northfleet . Gwen met her husband , Ron , when she was 16 and married in 1940 , the pair enjoyed many happy years together with their two daughters in Kent .
