If you are looking for a new hobby that will not only get your brain working , but that ’ s a real-world outdoor adventure , then geocaching could be exactly what you need . It ' s exciting , thrilling , sometimes exasperating , and it opens up and allows us to explore new places . In straight terms , it ’ s a worldwide treasure hunt that uses GPS technology and there ’ s one at Betteshanger Park .
Participants use a Geocaching app to navigate their way to cleverly hidden containers and small objects ( the geocatches ). It ’ s fun for all ages , gets everyone outdoors and gets you exploring new environments . There ’ s also no need to book , Geocaching is available every day and it ’ s £ 10 per group .
VOLUNTEER IN THE WILD Kent Wildlife Trust www . kentwildlifetrust . org . uk / volunteering-opportunities
Join the team at Kent Wildlife Trust and help support their ongoing projects . From working on their nature reserves like Blean , to greeting people at the visitors centres , or helping young people engage with the wildlife ; all make a huge difference to the running of the organisation . Volunteers will also have the opportunity to learn new skills , develop existing ones , meet new people and spend time outside in the fresh air amongst the wildlife .

Always wanted to fly a plane ? Well now ’ s your chance . Headcorn Aerodrome are enthusiastic about flying and so will you be once you take your trial lesson . If you decide that you ’ d like to then continue your training , they offer two licenses to work towards including a Private Pilot ' s License or the Light Aircraft Pilots License , both of which require many hours of flight training and exams , but will be worth it once you ’ re able to fly . Also great as a gift for friends and family .
